Holland Double Dutch Battle

WHAT
Think Roller Derby meets Jump Rope as five teams go head to head to raise money for the Holland Project, Reno's first non-profit arts and music initiative for teens.

WHO
Five teams (Reno Riot Squad, The Hot Dogs!, The Bat Kids, The Tight Ropes, and Mother Goat and the Painful Calves) representing over 60 young people city-wide. Ryan Stark as DJ and MC, Brad Bynum as Referee, Humanisterrorists Mike Modene and Clint Neuerburg, Sheppard Gallery's Marjorie Vecchio and members of Seattle's own Tina Turners Double Dutch Team as our scrutinizing panel of judges.

WHEN
Thursday, Dec. 14th during the CalAve Holiday Stroll. Stroll starts at 5pm, Battle begins at 6pm.

WHERE
On California Avenue, in front of Blue Moon Pizza and Satellite Bar

The Holland Project is a four-pronged endeavor made by and for the young people in the Truckee Meadows: art access (silkscreen studio, darkroom, gallery wall and free paint space); music access (stage for local and national music acts-as well as film, fashion, DJ nights, etc., practice spaces); diverse workshop opportunities (sound
engineering, mixing and recording a record, break dancing, yoga, silkscreen, bookmaking); and community service.
