Planning a Year
“Planning a year” is a time-based project in two parts – Plans and Actions. The “Plans” part took place from March 1st 2008 to February 28th 2009. During this time, everyday Sojung Kwon planned what she was going to do during that day on the corresponding date the following year. Then she wrote an e-mail of the plan to 365 people or organizations, whose addresses she chose at random from her email inbox.
The second part, “Action,” takes place from March 1st, 2009 and until February 28th, 2010. Kwon performed the action described during the corresponding day of the “Plans” part of the project. All of the actions are documented as video, sound, photograph, text, and props, as well as on the project website.
