"Ellie Honl, combines printmaking, painting, photography, and video. At the core of her fanciful and exquisitely elegant artworks one finds a complex, challenging center. She comments: "My recent work has been inspired by my explorations of psychological disorders and how they affect people's perceptions of reality. Depression and anxiety cause people to perceive things differently – usually to their detriment. Innocuous objects or situations can suddenly seem dangerous. A joyous day can turn gloomy. Confusion reigns.""
